El huracán Fiona ha causado inundaciones catastróficas, deslizamientos de tierra y apagones en Puerto Rico y en la República Dominicana, con cientos de personas rescatadas o evacuadas por las autoridades, El presidente de los Estados Unidos Joe Biden declaró el estado de emergencia para Puerto Rico, autorizando a FEMA a coordinar los esfuerzos de socorro en casos de desastre y proporcionar medidas de protección de emergencia. Este evento atmosférico llega en un momento en que Puerto Rico aún se está recuperando de las secuelas del destructivo huracán María, que ocurrió hace apenas cinco años. El pueblo de Puerto Rico así como nuestros hermanos dominicanos necesitan nuestro apoyo durante este momento difícil.

The mission of the Univision Foundation is to help propel and empower the Latinx community through building bridges and fostering intercultural understanding through the creation of innovative charitable initiatives. We support Hispanic families and strengthen Latinx institutions through work in the areas of education, health equity, civic engagement, disaster relief, and economic empowerment.
